Psychologist is a person who makes a diagnosis and provides psychological treatment in relation to everyday problems (changes in life, relationship problems, problems at work, conflicts, apathy and depression). Such counseling is not psychotherapy – it is a form of assistance for people who experience discomfort related to various types of difficulties.
Crisis intervention is psychological support focused on a specific problem. It constitutes the so-called emotional first aid and includes activities aimed at restoring the state of balance in people in crisis.
Psychotherapist is most often a psychologist with specialized training in psychotherapy. He deals with long-term therapy aimed at changing the patient’s functioning. During it, the patient can work through his problems, look at them from a different perspective and obtain emotional support. There are different schools of psychology that explain the mechanisms of human action in different ways – a set of given concepts is called a trend.
