What is a proctology visit like?

First, a medical interview is conducted, during which the proctologist asks about the patient’s symptoms, the course of the symptoms, and any history of chronic diseases. This is followed by a physical examination and, if necessary, additional diagnostic tests, such as anoscopy, rectoscopy, or ultrasound. During the visit, conservative or surgical treatment options are also discussed, along with further recommendations.
