Clinical trial for people with vitiligo

What is Vitiligo?

Vitiligo is a chronic skin condition characterized by the loss of skin pigmentation, leading to the appearance of white patches on different areas of the body. It occurs when melanocytes—the cells responsible for producing skin pigment—are destroyed by the immune system. Vitiligo affects approximately 0.5–2% of the global population and can occur in people of any age, sex, or ethnicity.

Although vitiligo is not contagious and does not cause physical pain, it can significantly affect quality of life and emotional well-being. Current treatment options are limited and relapses are common, highlighting the need for new, more effective therapies.
