Clinical Trial for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

What is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental health condition. Its core features are recurring, persistent thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that a person performs to reduce anxiety.

While standard treatments (such as antidepressant medications) help many, a significant number of patients still struggle with symptoms that hinder daily functioning, work, and personal relationships.

Objawy

Symptoms to watch for:

  • Obsessions: Persistent thoughts about contamination, dirt, a need for symmetry, aggressive impulses, or unwanted images that cause intense anxiety.
  • Compulsions: Repetitive hand washing, checking locks/stoves, mental counting, or arranging objects in a specific order.
  • Sense of Urgency: The individual feels they “must” perform a certain action, even if they realize the behavior is irrational.
  • Significant Time Loss: Rituals take up more than an hour a day and disrupt the person’s daily schedule.
